The project investigates the representation of the grotesque body through a body of works belonging to the field of sculpture. More specifically, how it might be possible to understand the iconography of attraction and repulsion in contemporary art with the aim of confusing the opposition of pleasure and disgust. The culture of ,, freak shows'' had a considerable influence in the development of the project. The work consists of 10 miniature figures inspired by the characters that used to operate in "freak shows". Each figure is placed in a wooden box covered with a metal lid with a magnifying glass. Inside, the box is illuminated with an LED that acts as a space shaper. These boxes are in turn placed on a pedestal. Miniature works are often associated with jewellery. Precisely to enhance this effect, three-dimensional objects have been made of brass.
